Mentoring:

This is by far the most collaborative and creative aspect of our solution.  It is an accelerated way to achieve the desired outcomes.  More importantly the results achieved are usually better than the individual undertaking the mentoring ever expected.  The progression of value gained in investing in a person is training à mentoring.  There are a number of organisations and individuals who utilise the title of a business and executive mentor yet there are very few who have actually been trained.  Personally I am part of 11 training organisations and have over 3000 hours of specific training. 

Mentoring offers a convenient, relatively cost-effective way to support behavioural changes or complex decision-making processes that have the potential to create tremendous value for organizations, as well as the individuals involved. Two recent studies bear this out. 1) An article in Public Personnel Management (Winter 97, Vol. 26 Issue 4, p. 461, published by the International Personnel Management Association) revealed a study where training alone was compared to mentoring combined with training. The study showed that training alone increased productivity by 22.4% while training plus mentoring increased productivity by 88%. 2) A study in the Manchester Review (2001, Vol. 6, No. 1) on executive mentoring showed that companies that invested in executive mentoring received an average return on investment of more that 5 times. 

I think at this point it may be worth differentiating between a trainer and mentor. A trainer delivers content, ideas and concepts by providing information, whilst a mentor elicits, evokes and at times provokes greatness in addition to the concepts. If we use Tiger Woods as an example, he is probably the best player in the history of the game of golf yet he has a mentor who has never won a PGA tournament in his life. His mentor does have the skills to look upon his game and tune it to the level of greatness he plays at.  Our specialist mentors are trained to do that with people and businesses. We listen and understand a person's dynamics.  We remove blocks and structure support frameworks that support your team.  

The main difference with all other previous programs undertaken is that our focus is on WHO people are being rather than WHAT they are doing.  This is why there are significant impacts to the performance of a business and people.
